This premiere advocacy event will take place in Washington, D.C. from September 11-14, 2023. Meetings with our lawmakers and regulators remain one of the most important visual representations of credit union grassroots advocacy. The LSCU Advocacy Team is prepared to help you engage with lawmakers and regulators, creating a lasting positive impact on the credit union movement.

How do I participate in Hike the Hill this year?
You can register to attend Hike the Hill by clicking here. Please review our tentative agenda when choosing your flights.

 

Where should I stay?
The League has reserved a room block at the Hampton Inn & Suites/Navy Yard. Hotel reservations are the responsibility of each individual and must be made separately by calling (202) 479-0027 ext. 2 or using the group link for online reservations. A room rate of $289 has been secured for this event and all reservations must be received on or before August 19, 2023.

 

What is the format for these meetings?
Our general layout begins with our LSCU team member introducing the lawmaker to our advocates. Then the lawmaker will take some time to speak to the group. Afterwards, we will move into a question and answer and informative discussion. Please refer to your brief (coming soon for information about our legislative issues and potential matters for discussion. We expect the meetings to last about thirty minutes. Please refer to our LSCU talking points as a reference for our most important federal legislative priorities.

 

Is there a registration fee?

No, there is no registration fee to attend Hike the Hill! You are only responsible for your flight and hotel. Because there is no additional cost involved, please consider a contribution to LSCU FedPAC to aid in our advocacy efforts.

 

Are there any special COVID-19 protocols within the Capitol?

Due to the pandemic, there could be extra precautions in place for in-person meetings on Capitol Hill. As this situation evolves, the Advocacy Team will keep you abreast of any extra protocols you need to know ahead of time.
