  LGE COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION

A frustrated consumer visited LGE Community Credit Union hoping to open an account. Her credit was limited and caused many other financial institutions to turn her away. The credit union wanted to do more. After spending time with her, she walked out as a member with a savings account, High Rewards checking account and a low-limit credit card to help get her on the path to financial wellness.
Elated with her new chance, she returned weeks later to attend an auto-refinance event. She was concerned she wouldn’t qualify due to the negative equity in her car, but thought she’d give it a try since LGE helped her so much the first time. She was paying an interest rate of over 20% on her existing loan at the time. However, the credit union refinanced the loan at a rate of 9.45% with zero out-of-pocket expenses and no payment for 90 days.
It was only during the paperwork process that day when the member mentioned it was her birthday. She stated becoming a member of the credit union was the best birthday present she’d ever received.
