Crisis Management: What to Do When Something Goes Wrong
Speaker: David Reed

Many pundits have proffered that it is not a question of “if” bad things will happen to you, but “when...and how bad” those things will become. The time to prepare in now! Unfortunately the recent headlines in Credit Union trade publications have been filled with stories of unfortunate events and risky behaviors that ultimately led to big Credit Union problems. From data breaches to embezzlement, from compliance violations to personal in-fighting with management, these stories seem to be written more for a movie script than Main Street, but they are all tragically true. Is your Credit Union prepared to identify and deal with significant issues in a timely and professional fashion? In this interactive session, credit union veterans David and Diane Reed go behind the headlines and explore real life financial institution crises and failures and the lessons every institution needs to learn from them.

OnBoarding Volunteers, It's Not Just a Dinner
Speaker: Diane Reed

Having trouble attracting and retaining volunteers? Let’s face it. If you’re looking for folks who are different from yourself and you’re trying to Onboard them in the same way, you’re in for a rude awakening. Even your Onboarding process needs to change with the times. The key to attracting and keeping new volunteers is to fully incorporate them into your operations. From the first meeting they attend to your annual Strategic Planning Conference, they need to feel part of the group. And… they need to understand what’s expected from them. How often do you communicate with them during their first few months? What kind of training do you provide? How about socialization? Complete with a Sample Onboarding Schedule and Sample Onboarding Activities Sheet, this session is sure to help you retain those great new volunteers.

Seize the Moment: Getting Back into Your Community
Speaker: David & Diane Reed

Hurrah! The world is beginning to re-open. But… things look different in your community. As you begin to look around, you’ll notice the difference. People are still a bit hesitant to commune in large groups. Numerous businesses have closed. There are “Help Wanted” posters everywhere. As you climb out of hibernation, you’ll notice your community is not the same. As Credit Union volunteers, it’s time for us to step up to our mission of “People Helping People” and do our part to fill the void caused by the Pandemic. But how? During this session, we’ll explore a plethora of Best Practices both lending a hand and getting the Credit Union message out to our friends and neighbors. From Pay It Forward Programs to Small Business Partnerships to Unique Lending Products, YOU can make a difference!
